In a world where stories often unfold as linear tales of conquest and heroism, this film essay invites reimagining our pasts and by that also our futures: Drawing inspiration from Ursula K. Le Guin's Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, it questions: What narratives are we telling? Who is telling them? And who is left out?
Le Guin suggests that storytelling need not be about the hunt or the spear but about the gathering—the act of collecting and holding. She proposes that our earliest tools were not weapons but containers: baskets, bags, vessels that held the stories of daily life. This theory serves as a foundation to explore alternative narratives that embrace multiplicity and inclusion.
By embedding images of destructive realities within a fictional framework, the work becomes a tool to critically reflect on and imagine possible futures of living together.
